WARMUP: 

1. Take two minutes and REVIEW the learning targets for this unit (first page of unit syllabus).
2. Write one sentence for each of the following that proves you understand what the word means.

LEARNING TARGETS:  By the end of today you should be able

• analyze George Ella Lyon’s poem “Where I’m From” and identify specific literary devices” she uses.
• Be able to explain how to cite poetry according to MLA Style.
• Be able to explain the reflection assignment

HOMEWORK:  at a bare minimum, spend five minutes on the Monday section of the reflection (don’t rush to do this at the end of class or in your other classes–it’s not a LONG assignment.  It’s not a DIFFICULT assignment.  However, you get so much more from it if you do it at home, at night.
