  1. Explain the key events of Chapters 5 and 6 of OF MICE AND MEN (and what they mean)
  2. Explain the format of the vocab quiz and what you will be required to do.
  3. Know where to find the key things you need to know for the Literary Essay.

Learning Targets: As a result of today’s class you should be able to

  1. Explain the main action of chapter 4 of “Of Mice and Men”
  2. Explain how the ideas of chapter 4 fit in with Steinbeck’s theme/purpose for writing the book.
  3. Find quotes from the chapter that tie in to the theme.

  3. Be able to tie the plot points from Chapter 3 to larger thematic ideas (What is Steinbeck trying to do?)
