In class: we put all of the tables in a circle and had a roundtable discussion about The Trial chapters.

TOMORROW: reading day. Should be through Ch. 24 by Thursday.

A) Explain the importance of chapter 11 and the novel’s little side trip to the home of Mrs. Henry Lafayette DuBose.

B) Be able to explain how Chapter 11 builds on the two big thematic quotes we studied earlier (“Shoot all the blue jays you want….but it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” and “You never really understand a person until you see things from his point of view….until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”)

In class: we had a quick reading quiz and then discussed Ch. 11.

Time remaining was used for work time.
