You can work on any of the following

1. Catch up on reading if you are behind (Should have finished Ch. 8 for today)
2. Work on Study Guides. Ch. 8 was left with sub.
3. Work on the charts/grids you’ve been given (Essays, symbolism, major themes)

4th Essay Question Option (the one I’ve been holding back due to spoilers (more coming on this)

• F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote: “Show me a hero and I’ll write you a tragedy.” To what extent is Jay Gatsby a hero? To what extent is the book a tragedy? (Note: if you choose to write this, your thesis should probably look something like “Gatsby is/isn’t a hero because__________________ and the book is/isn’t a tragedy because __________________________.”

• Starting THURSDAY MARCH 21 We’ll simultaneously be working on Gatsby essays AND starting research project process. ESSAYS ARE DUE BEFORE SPRING BREAK. (Thursday March 28 if you’re here the full time, sooner if you leave early).
