  • Section 3: 10 Questions: Literary Terms (Matching)
  • Section 4:  16 Questions about the research process and proper writing fundamentals.
  • Section 5: Vocab in Context 12 questions
  • Section6:  Vocab matching  24 question.

FORMAT

  • All Multiple Choice
  • Vocab section : two parts
    • Sentences with “Fill in the Blank”
    • Vocab in context:  reading passages with vocab words used.  Questions ask you to come up with best meaning.
  • Poetry section
    • read poems, answer questions–interpretation and identification of poetic devices.
  • To Kill A Mockingbird section
    • Questions about the book–more thematic than “what happened.”  Require some analysis.
  • Dead Poet’s Society Section
    • Questions both on the Four Transcendentalist Readings we did in class (“Nature” “Self-Reliance” “Walden” Civil Disobedience”) and the film.
    • Questions are more thematic/analytical than straight knowledge.
  • Independent Reading Section:
    • You will have a passage to read and then there will be questions that test both your reading skills/strategies but also your understanding of the techniques the writer uses.
