THIS WEEK:

  1. Finish any/all unfinished work for which you would like credit.
  2. Begin exam prep (review sheet coming by Wednesday).  EXAM FORMAT
    1. 100 points
    2. 60 points: combination of multiple choice/short answer
      1. Journalism basics and rules
      2. First Amendment
      3. Media Law (court cases/censorship etc)
      4. Writing and style
      5. Basics of video (composition/ How to tell a story in video
      6. Basics of design (CRAP etc.)
      7. Photo/video composition
  3. 40 points: Practicum
    1. OPTION 1:  Write a story from provided notes and quotes.
    2. OPTION 2:   Create a storyboard/plan for a video from provided notes and quotes.

WEEK OF 12/17 to 12/21

MONDAY:  Received new vocab packets.  Extras on front table.

Week was spent reading independently.  Be sure to fill out logs.  If done with your book, you had the choice to read anything else you wanted or work on your to-be-graded draft of the Dead Poets Society paper.

THURSDAY 12/14 and FRIDAY 12/15

INDEPENDENT READING LOGS

At the start of class THURSDAY we took 8 minutes and , at the bottom of our logs wrote to this prompt:  WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SUBJECT OF YOUR BOOK SO FAR.  After the 8 minutes was up, we took another two minutes and revised (paragraphing , spelling, capitalization, punctuation etc).

On Thursday, we submitted the logs for this week.

On Friday, a new log went out to classroom.

REMEMBER: DRAFT OF DPS paper due today.
